There will be a public consultation ‘drop-in session’ in the Town Council offices, (1 Kershaw Street East, Shaw OL2 8AB) on the proposed Masterplan and Spatial Design Code for Broadbent Moss and Beal Valley, which outlines the vision to transform the area into a vibrant, connected community.
The consultation event will take place in the Town Council offices from 3:00pm until 8:00pm and will be facilitated by Cavendish Consulting.
Led by a consortium of developers – Casey, Grasscroft Property, Barratt Redrow, Kellen Homes, and Wain Homes – the proposals include:
- Around 1,500 new homes, including affordable and social housing
- 4.5 hectares of employment land to support local jobs
- A new Metrolink stop at Cop Road, with improvements to highways and active travel links between Heyside and Moorside
- A new local centre with shops, services, and community facilities
- Over 90 hectares of green space, including wetlands and biodiversity improvements
