Meeting with other people

You shouldn’t meet people you do not live with inside your home, unless they are in your support or childcare bubble.

You can meet family and friends outdoors, such as in gardens, parks and beer gardens, but you must observe the rule of six and carry on social distancing.

Work and business

You should work from home where possible.

Businesses and venues can continue to operate, in a COVID-secure manner, other than those that remain closed in law.

Face coverings/masks

Members of staff and the public must now wear face coverings in enclosed public spaces.

If you do not, you could face a £200 fine.

Events and ceremonies

Weddings and funerals can go ahead with restrictions on the number of attendees (15 people for weddings and civil partnerships, 30 people for funerals).

Leisure and hospitality

All pubs, bars and restaurants must close by 10pm and must operate table service only.

This will include takeaways but delivery, drive through and click and collect services can continue after 10pm.

If you need to travel we encourage you to walk or cycle where possible, or to plan ahead and avoid busy times and routes on public transport.

Shielding residents

We are advising any residents who have recently shielded to continue taking extra care now that the shielding process has formally ended in Oldham.
