Restrictions designed to prevent the spread of coronavirus are in force across Greater Manchester.
- Greater Manchester: local restrictions – GOV.UK website
There are additional restrictions in place here in Oldham that relate to public transport and funerals.
We need everyone to follow the guidance outlined; to stop the spread, stay safe and save lives.
Meeting other people
In order to help prevent the spread of coronavirus you must not:
- host people you do not live with in your home or garden, unless they’re in your support or childcare bubble
- meet people you do not live with in their home or garden unless they’re in your support or childcare bubble
In addition to these restrictions, we advise that you should not:
- socialise with people you do not live with, unless they’re in your support bubble, in any public venue. This applies inside and outside Oldham. Examples of public venues include pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops, places of worship, community centres, leisure and entertainment venues, or visitor attractions and parks
- visit friends or family in care homes, other than in exceptional circumstances. Care homes should restrict visits to these circumstances.
Face-coverings
When visiting shops, on public transport, in taxis or in other enclosed or crowded spaces you should wear a face covering. If you do not, you could face a £200 fine.
If you work in retail or hospitality, you must now wear a face covering at work.
Transport and work
If you are able to work from home you should continue to do so.
You should only use public transport for essential travel.
Events and ceremonies
Wedding ceremonies and receptions, and civil partnerships, are now limited to 15 people. These people should be household members and close family only.
No more than 20 people can attend a funeral.
Shops, leisure and hospitality
All pubs, bars and restaurants must close by 10pm and must operate table service only.
Shielding residents
We are advising any residents who have recently shielded to continue taking extra care now that the shielding process has formally ended in Oldham.
