Rapid COVID-19 testing at Shaw Lifelong Learning Centre

4. Testing for people that can’t work from home and have NO symptoms

If you have symptoms please do not come to a rapid testing site as you will not be allowed access to the site. Please book a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test via the GOV.UK website.

Coronavirus rapid testing for people WITHOUT SYMPTONS started in Oldham on Monday 18 January.

This is only for people that can’t work from home.

No appointment is necessary, just pop in.

More than 5,000 businesses in Oldham have been written to with details on how to access the sites.

This testing will play an important part in Oldham’s continuing attempts to contain, manage and ultimately defeat Coronavirus.

Military personnel will work alongside public sector staff to test at four sites in Oldham.

There is also on-street parking available on Westway.

*The Queen Elizabeth Hall site offers Rapid Testing for those key workers who have additional needs and may need a little extra help or support. Includes but not limited to;

  • Hearing difficulties
  • Physical impairments which make self-swabbing difficult
  • Learning disabilities
  • Language (non-English speaker)
  • Mental health issues such as anxiety

An appointment is necessary for these so we have the right support on and for you (all other sites you do not need an appointment).
