Following a meeting today with Oldham Council Planning Officers, the Town Council and community representatives Dawn and Charlie Bardsely, OMBC provided the following update regarding the current status of and future planning matters in relation to St Paul’s Methodist Church, Shaw:
The new owners are due to submit a revised planning application (4 December 2024) which incorporates proposals to make good identified building reinstatement/restoration works. Once the application appears on the OMBC online Planning Portal, members of the public will be invited to comment on the revised proposals. The relevant application references are as follows but when searching the details, only the middle 6 digits (in bold) need to be input to retrive the associated documents:-
FUL/349488/22 and LBC/349489/22
The Town Council continues to monitor this application and liaise with OMBC to ensure that that the restoration works are implemented in the future and to that end, updates will be issued on the website and social media.
Finally, the Town Council wishes to place on record its gratitude to Dawn and Charlie for their unstinting support and diligence in providing information on a range of key matters relating to St Paul’s Methodist Church which in turn have been greatly appreciated by the OMBC Planning Team.
