It is with great sadness that we report the recent loss of Alan Griffiths, former Shaw & Crompton Parish Councillor. Alan was a founder member of the Parish Council which was formed in 1987 where he held the office of Parish Council Chairman in 1989/90 and served the Parish Council for 20 years until 2007. However, that doesn’t adequately sum up Alan’s dedication to local politics and his unstinting support he gave to local people but the following is a fitting tribute to Alan from long-time friend and colleague Councillor Howard Sykes
The Funeral Service will be held at The United Reformed Church, Rochdale Road, Shaw on Wednesday 29th January at 12:45pm prior to committal at Oldham Crematorium , Hollinwood.
